Emma Kibride, daughter of a British man who was detained at the Weixian Concentration Camp in Weifang, Shandong, donated a cane cherished by her ancestors to the Weihsien West Civilians Concentration Camp Site Museum on Aug 7 in celebration of the camp's upcoming 80th anniversary. The donation is about more than the cane itself — it is about what it symbolizes.

The museum plans to use the cane as a new medium for peace education through digital exhibitions and international academic seminars. It aims to showcase China's image of peace and inclusiveness to the world, especially to the younger generation, and to convey China's "voice for peace".
