As an important part of Shandong Provincial Museum Association’s series of activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, the Exhibition of “Deploying Troops to Shandong: The 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army in the Yimeng Area” opened recently in Linyi, China’s Shandong province.
At the opening ceremony, the thematic exhibitions in honor of the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War against Japanese Aggression were promoted on site and five cultural and museum institutions such as the Memorial Hall of Tai’erzhuang Campaign introduced their exhibitions that have been selected for.
The Exhibition of “Deploying Troops to Shandong: The 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army in the Yimeng Area” is meticulously structured into five major sections: National Crisis and Strategic Choices, Transferring Operations to Yimeng Area to Consolidate and Expand the Anti-Japanese Base in Southern Shandong, Breaking the Blockade and Surviving the Difficult Period of the War Against Japanese Aggression, Resolute Counter offensive and Securing the Final Victory in the War Against Japanese Aggression, Marching North and South and Reclaiming the homeland.
Through precious historical materials and cultural relics, it presents a panorama of the magnificent journey where, after the outbreak of the War Against Japanese Aggression, the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army marched into the Yimeng Area and fought valiantly alongside the local military and civilians against the enemy, and reveals the incredible contributions made by this heroic army in founding, consolidating and expanding Shandong Anti-Japanese Base centered on Yimeng, which were crucial to securing the great victory of the war.
